Edgardo Soto is a stage director born and based in Puerto Rico. His style is unapologetic, minimalistic and resourceful, making acting and narrative the center stage of his productions. He is known for his unconventional approach to commercial theater, which has developed a space for Puerto Rican artists by bringing to stage new writing and collective dramaturgy plays. He has had the opportunity to train in renowned companies such as The Public Theater (NYC), Aria Entertainment and Selladoor World Wide (London). Edgardo is currently the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Puerto Rico Theatre Lab and the Programing and Production Manager of The Department of Art and Culture of the City of San Juan.
Soto graduated from the Drama Department of the University of Puerto Rico Río Piedras Campus and from the prestigious Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, with a Master's degree in Creative Producing. His also an alumnus of the Directors Intensive Program of the YALE University.
His most notable work include "Constelaciones" by Nick Payne, & "El Juego" by Alejandro Jodorowsky, and the original piece "Armonía" by Ricardo André Lugo.
